The Middletown Boys Varsity Bowling team bounced back from their loss last week to win their match today against Turpin at home at Eastern Lanes!
Sophomore James Prater led the team to victory by averaging 190.5 in his 2-game set with games of 212 and 169! Senior Zach Maloney rolled a nice 205 for his 2nd game! Freshman Ethan Rowe threw a nice 193 game, while teammate and Senior Michael “Yank” Yenke was only 1 pin behind him with his 192 game! The squad was 74 pins ahead after the first game, and then turned it on to take a 158 pin lead going into the Baker round. The boys bowled pretty good in Bakers also, shooting a 192, 179, and a nice 201 to seal the win! Nice job guys!
The JV squad won their match easily today by 556 pins by a score of 2377-1821! Sophomore Austin Smith had another great day starting off with an awesome 224 game, paired with a 168, for a 196 average! Freshman Tyler Jurmu had his 2nd good outing in a row with a very nice 213 game, followed by a 170, for a 191.5 average! Senior Liam Delaney also bowled another good match when he started with a nice 192 game and then a 177! Sophomore Nathan Weiland rolled a 151 game, while Senior Hunter Moore shot a 144! The boys put together above-average games for their Baker set again with scores of 175, 165, 156, and 158! Way to go team!

Middletown is now 5-3 in the GMC, and 14-3 overall! Next up for the Middies is our final match of the season against Mason at home on Wednesday, which is also Senior Night! Come on out and cheer on your Middies and help us celebrate the 14 Seniors that will be bowling in the final match of their high school careers! Festivities will start at 3:00pm.
