The Middletown Boys Varsity Bowling team will extend their season by competing in the District Championships next week!
The team will advance after they made the cut bowling in the Sectional tournament today at Crossgate Lanes! The oil pattern was tough today and the boys struggled a bit, but so did most of the other teams there. Leading the team today was Sophomore Matthew Minor by throwing games of 205, 177, and 190! Sophomore James Prater rolled a 178, 183, and 160! Senior Austin Tillett bowled pretty good also with scores of 185 & 162! Sophomore Austin Smith had a nice game of 198, while Senior Zach Maloney posted a nice 188 game!
After the individual games, the boys were sitting in 7th place. There were 15 teams fighting for a spot to move on, and only 7 teams make the cut. That’s when the team kicked it up a notch! They bowled the highest Baker set of any team in the building, with games of 184, 217, 167, 180, 181, & 213, for a 190 average! That pushed us up to finish in 5th place, and move on to the District Championships, which are held next Thursday, March 1st at Beaver-Vu Bowl in Beavercreek! Awesome job guys!
Great job Middies!
