Girls Varsity Bowling · Girls Varsity Bowling Finishes Season at Districts

The Middletown Girls Varsity Bowling team finished their season today at the District Championships and unfortunately will not be advancing to State.

High bowler on the team today was Freshman Emily Cupp with games of 187, 213, & 155, for a 555 series! It was also her highest series of the year! Senior Anna McIntosh finished with a 474 series, which included games of 156 & 171! Senior Abi Blandford rolled a 443 series which included a high game of 156, and Senior Shianne Lane threw a 151 game! The girls struggled in Bakers, but did come together to shoot a nice 184 game during the 6-game set!

The team may not be advancing, but today they showed what a true team is all about! They tried their hardest and did their best, they supported each other no matter how good or bad their teammates were doing, cheered on their opponents (especially close friends from the GMC), but most importantly they had fun…a LOT of fun! Memories were made this season, including a new all time record in Middletown history for the highest overall record of 16 wins and only 1 lost, and the 9th & 10th frame roll-off against Lakota West that allowed us to advance to Districts as a team! It is all bittersweet, because this is the end to the high school bowling careers of 6 Seniors on the team, some that have been in the program for all 4 years, and all will be missed dearly.

Congratulations on a GREAT season! See you at the Winter Awards Program on March 21st at 6pm in the Arena!
