The Boys Varsity bowling team finished in the top 16 teams in the Back 2 School Bash tournament today at the Game of Fairfield!
The format for this tournament is 2 individual games and 2 Baker games, and then after lunch, go head to head, best 2 out of 3 Baker games in an elimination bracket until a winner is determined.
The boys were on FIRE the first game, leading all other teams with the highest 5-man total of 1151 pins! The lowest score for that game for the Middies was a 204! High man of the day was Sophomore Ethan Rowe after shooting the high game of 268, followed by a 180, finishing with a 224 average! Ethan finished in 9th place overall and just missed the All Tournament Team by 2 pins! Junior Jacob Cowgill had a great day also when he threw an awesome 235 and a 183 game, and an average of 209! Junior Matthew Minor was very consistent today after posting two nice games of 204 & 195! Not to be out-done was Juniors Austin Smith and James Prater who both started the day with very nice games of 222 each!
In the 2 Baker games, the boys continued ripping up the lanes by rolling awesome games of 235 & 236! After the round, the team was sitting in 3rd place with a bye for the Top 16. But after sitting for over 2 hours including the lunch break, they could not overcome their next opponent and lost the best 2 out of 3 match play, ending their day at the tournament.
Keep your heads up boys! You still had an awesome day! We will learn from our mistakes and get them next time!
Next up for all 3 teams is a home match tomorrow against Fenwick. The match will start a little earlier at 3:45pm. See you there!
