Boys Varsity Bowling · Boys Varsity Bowling beats Fenwick 2645-2584!

The Middletown Boys Varsity Bowling team won their match by beating the Falcons from Fenwick at Eastern Lanes today!

Junior Jacob Cowgill took his turn at scoring big by ripping off an awesome 226 game, followed by a very nice 206, for a 216 average! Junior Austin Smith threw the high game of the day with an amazing 231 game, and then rolled a 182, for a 206.5 average! Junior James Prater started his set with a 212 and finished with a 191 game, and fellow Junior Matthew Minor also turned in a very nice 215 game and a 164!

The Falcons were on fire today and kept it a close match. We’re told that they broke a school record for total pinfall. Before going into the Baker round, the Middies were up by 69 pins, but their opponents kept chipping away and got within 36 pins before the boys picked it back up and closed it out to win the match by 61!

The JV squad also won their match fairly easily by defeating Fenwick by 374 pins with a final score of 2008-1634! Leading our boys today was Freshman Dylan Wood with an awesome 217 game and following it up with a 158, for a 187.5 average! Sophomore Luke Lawson shot 2 nice games himself with scores of 171 & 160! Sophomore Braeden Wills had a good day also on the lanes after throwing a nice 168 game and then a 146!

The boys also had a high game of 175 in Bakers, and finished with their highest total pinfall of the season!

Middletown Varsity Boys are now 8-0 overall, and still 3-0 in the GMC. The JV team is now 4-1 overall.

Next up for the Middies is against Middletown Christian in the 1st ever Crosstown Shootout on Wednesday at Eastern Lanes! The battle will start a little early at 3:45, so please come out and root on your Middies to victory! Should be a great match! See you there!
