Burning up the wood lanes today on the opponent’s alley was Sophomore Ethan Rowe, shooting an amazing 268 game followed by a nice 205, for a 236.5 average! Junior Austin Smith started his set with a 181 and came storming back with an awesome 246 game, for a 213.5 average! Junior Matthew Minor began his set with a strong 214 game, and finished with a 164! Teammate and fellow Junior James Prater was only a few pins behind him after throwing a nice 200 and 171 combo!
The boys were up by 157 pins going into the Baker round. Today was probably the best 4-game set of the season when the team came together for back-2-back 190 games, a very nice 235, and finished with a 196, for a 811 total! All tallied up to win the match by 267 pins! Great job everyone!
The JV squad unfortunately was on the other end of the stick after losing to their opponent 2274-2066. However, their total still ended up being one of their highest yet for the season. Leading the pack was Sophomore Luke Lawson again with 2 great games of 180 & 224, for a 202 average! Freshman Dylan Wood also had a very good day after rolling a nice 192 & a 162! Fellow Freshman Justyn Henson had probably his best day this season, shooting games of 156 & 142! The squad was down 185 going into Bakers, and even putting up better than average numbers, 166, 171, 130, & 160, they were not able to overcome the deficit and pull out the win. Still, good job team!
Middletown Varsity Boys are now 14-1 overall, and remain at 5-1 in the GMC, currently in 2nd place. The JV team’s record goes to 7-3 overall.
Next up for the Middies is a square-off with GMC opponent Lakota East, tomorrow at Mason Bowl. Start time will be approximately 4:00pm. Hope to see you there!
