The Middletown Boys Varsity Bowling team defeated the Lakota East Thunderhawks in a GMC match today at Mason Bowl!
The lanes were extra oily today and were tough on all of our Middie bowlers. We didn’t have a lot of high scores, but we still came together as a team to take the “W” and are now tied for 1st place in the GMC! Today’s top bowler was Junior James Prater, shooting a nice 195 & 183! Junior Austin Smith posted games of 183 & 161! Sophomore Ethan Rowe rolled a 179, while Junior Jacob Cowgill shot a 168!
The boys were down by 7 pins after the first game, but came back to start the Baker round up by 141. That’s when they turned up the heat! The Middies had their best Baker round of the season, when they cranked out games of 212, 224, 203, & 211, for a 850 total and a 212.5 average! Awesome job boys! This helped seal the win by 370 pins and move them back into a tie for 1st place with 2 GMC matches to go!
The JV squad bounced back strong from their loss yesterday to take down their opponent by 222 pins, with a grand total of 1756-1534! They too struggled on the flooded lanes, but ran the table from start to finish! High scores from the squad were Sophomore Luke Lawson with a nice 177 & 139, Freshman Dylan Wood with back-back 147 games, Sophomore Braeden Wills with a nice 152, and Freshman Gian Cedeno with a 133! Way to go!
Middletown Varsity Boys bump their overall record to 15-1, and 6-1 in the GMC, in a 3-way tie for 1st place! The JV team’s record goes up to 8-3 overall!
The Varsity squad will face GMC opponent Princeton on Friday at home, a previously rescheduled match due to weather. The JV squad will be idle since the Vikings do not have a JV team this season. Start time will be approximately 3:30pm since Princeton is close by. Hope to see you there!
