Girls Varsity Bowling · Girls Varsity Bowling loses to Lakota East 1870-1844

The Middletown Girls Varsity Bowling team lost their 2nd match in a row to Lakota East at Mason Bowl.

The girls suffered a very close loss today on lanes that seemed to have much more oil than normal. The match was close from beginning to end, but the Thunderhawks came away with the win. The team was actually up by 5 pins after the first game, but couldn’t maintain the lead the rest of the way out. Sophomore Emily Cupp bowled a 152 & a 167! Junior Toni Mullins had a good day, shooting games of 155 & 140, and Freshman Emma Cox was pretty consistent with her set, posting scores of 146 & 141!

The girls were down by 32 pins going into the Baker round. Lakota East extended their lead after 2 games, and then our Middies came back to close the gap, but fell shy of stealing the win by just 26 pins. Keep your heads up girls. The bowling Gods were just not in your favor today.

Middletown Varsity Girls’ record drops to 8-7 overall, and 2-5 in the GMC.

Next up for the Lady Middies is another GMC matchup when the Princeton Vikings come to Eastern Lanes for a rescheduled home match on Friday. We will be starting earlier since Princeton is not too far away, around 3:30pm. Hope to see you there!
