The Girls Varsity Bowling team competed in the Southwest District Sectionals Tournament yesterday at Crossgate Lanes. The format for the tournament is 3 regular games and 6 Baker games, with the top 7 out of 16 teams advancing to the next level. There are also 7 individuals that get to advance based on total pinfall from bowlers that are not part of the 7 teams already advancing.
The lanes were pretty tough on our girls, with a special oil pattern only seen at the end of the season tournament. Sophomore Emily Cupp had a pretty day and series, shooting a high game of 190, and a 136 & 145! Freshman Rhianne Theiss threw 2 nice games also, with scores of 141 & 135, and fellow Freshman Emma Cox bowled a 2nd game score of 138!
The Baker round went fairly well, with the girls shooting almost every game above their season average of 126. They put together games of 141, 144, 146, 148, 160, and 122! Way to go!
The team finished in 13th place overall. The great news is that Emily Cupp will be advancing to the District tournament next week as an individual! Of the 7 individuals that advance, she was #3, and was 17th overall for the day! Great job Emily! Good Luck at Districts!
