The Girls Varsity Bowling team took 7th place out of 16 teams at the Covington Catholic Team Challenge tournament held today in Erlanger, Kentucky!
The format for this tournament is 2 regular games, then bowl the best 2 out of 3 Bakers in a head-to-head bracket until a champion is determined. There were 16 teams participating today, mostly from Kentucky, but 3 from Ohio.
The girls team had a pretty good day today, fighting oil pattern issues, but fought through and made a run. Junior Emily Cupp led all scorers for the team, shooting games of 169 & 183! Sophomore Rhianne Theiss started off with a 143 but then came back with a very nice 190 game, which was the highest game on the team! Freshman Mary Fletcher had another great day, knocking out her highest game ever with a 165, and added a 144 to boot! Senior Toni Mullins had a pretty good game herself with a 157, and followed it up with a 126! Great job ladies!
The girls were the #7 seed going into the Baker elimination round, where they easily won the 1st round, but then came up short against the #2 seeded team in the next round, and was eliminated from the tournament, finishing in 7th place overall.
GREAT JOB MIDDIES!
The girls come back home for a match on Monday against Norwood. Start time will be approximately 4:00pm. Come on out and cheer your Middies to victory!
