Boys Varsity Bowling · Boys Varsity Bowling Take 3rd at Conference Clash!

The Boys Varsity Bowling team took 3rd place today at the inaugural Conference Clash tournament at Colerain Bowl!

This tournament consists of GMC teams only. The format is 3 regular games, then 6 Baker games, with the total pinfall determining the champion. We also bowled on the sports shot today that will be used at Sectionals and Districts Championships this year.

The boys bowled pretty well today considering having to deal with the tough oil pattern and missing a decent amount of spares. Picking up spares and striking as much as possible is the key to winning tournaments that don’t have a bracket-style playoff after the break. But they still held their ground and only missed 2nd place by 9 pins!

Senior Ethan Rowe had another great day by firing three great games of 221, 236, & 226, which also put him as the #2 overall individual and making the All-Tournament Team! Way to go Ethan! Junior Dylan Wood threw his best 3-game series of the season, with scores of 178, 233, & 222, finishing in 6th overall and missing the All-Tournament Team by just 7 pins! Great job Dylan! Senior Luke Lawson pounded out 2 very nice games himself with a 192 & 236, and finished with a 170 game! Sophomore Tanner Back also had a couple of very good games when he shot a 191 & 200, and had a 169 for his 2nd game! Senior Tyler Jurmu helped the team out today by rolling a 160 & 149!

The boys started the Baker round in 3rd place and only 17 pins separated the top 3 teams! The boys started off with 3 very nice games of 201, 202, & 209, but then lost the momentum and finished with a 134, 178, & 194.

This was the last regular tournament of the season, but I want to mention how well the team has done this year in tournaments. In 5 tournaments, they finished 3rd, 3rd, 4th, 1st, & 3rd! That’s pretty amazing. WAY TO GO GUYS!

On Monday, the team travels to Strike Zone/JD Legends to take on the Franklin Wildcats for their last head-to-head match of the season. Spectators are permitted, with a limit of 2 per bowler. See you there!
