Girls Varsity Bowling · Girls Varsity Bowling takes 5th place at Sectionals and Advance to Districts!

The Girls Varsity Bowling team took 5th place today at the Sectionals tournament at Crossgate Lanes!

The format is 3 regular games, then 6 Baker games, with the total pinfall determining who gets to advance to Districts. Only 7 teams get to move on.

The oil pattern was tough again and spares were the key. Our ladies were in 4th place after the 1st regular game, and in 5th after game 2. Senior Emily Cupp came out firing and was determined to do her best to help the team advance. She threw 3 great games of 213, 192, & 214! She also finished as the 3rd highest bowler overall in the tournament field! Way to go Emily! Sophomore Mary Fletcher bowled a 148, 121, & 140! Just 1 pin behind her was Sophomore Autumn Collins, who shot a nice 156 game, a 114 & 138! Freshman Katlyn Boggs rolled a 148 and then back-2-back 122 games! Freshman Rosa Roth helped the team advance by throwing a 131 & 127!

There was only 25 pins separating 5th place thru 8th, and with the Middies sitting in 8th, it was time to make a move! The girls put together another strong Baker round, with scores of 160, 171, 140, 142, 153, & 155! This equates to more than 10 pins above their normal Baker game average! With that, they were able to jump 3 spots back up into 5th to advance to the District Championships next week! Great job ladies!

The girls will travel to Beaver-Vu Bowl next Thursday morning. No spectators are allowed at Districts, so we will try to livestream the event. Please root on your Lady Middies from home!
